Hudson River Park’s River Project hosts a series of free and low-cost environmental education programs for organized groups using the Hudson River waterfront as its classroom. Field trip programs allow students to interact with the River and Park through enriching and fun activities that inspire the scientist within each student!

2024 Winter Field Trip Availability

Grades K–5 | Introduce students to the local species in the Hudson River Estuary through hands-on activities in our Pier 57 Discovery Tank.

Grades 3–12 | Take a peek through our digital microscope and observe some of the Estuary’s smallest living organisms.

Grades 3–12 | Learn how wastewater is treated in NYC and discuss the impacts of pollution on the health of our waterways.

Grades 6–12 | Investigate the impacts of climate change on our atmosphere and shorelines in Climate & Our Coast.

Grades 9–12 | Play a role in local environmental justice concerns.
